| Schedule |
The
ILCT Foundations Course is a 40 hour, 5-month program. Spring classes begin April 7, 2008. Fall classes begin Sept 29, 2008. Classes meet for one hour on Mondays
and Wednesdays at either 2:00 pm or 6:00 pm Eastern, excluding
holidays. Since peer coaching is an important element of our
course, students are required to select either the 2:00 pm
or the 6:00 pm timeframe for the entire five months. |

for the five month program is only $2,295.

| Modules |
Our
program is divided into six modules, with the first class
providing an orientation to a distance-learning environment
and how the Institute operates. |
1: |
Introduction
to Coaching covers the most recent definitions of coaching,
distinctions between therapy and coaching, and listening as
a coach. |
2: |
Coaching
Basics defines the coaching alliance and explains how you
might design one, what elements are necessary for the first
coaching conversation, introduces and explains the basic coaching
model, discusses powerful questions and purposeful inquiry,
how to design the action, and what someone does with what
they already know. |
3: |
The
Coaches Tool Box covers skills and tools taught in the previous
weeks for empowering and forwarding the action, advanced coaching
skills, and allows time for the students to practice coaching. |
4: |
Marketing
Your Practice provides insight into marketing effectively,
creating a full and fulfilling practice, the importance of
credibility, visibility, and contact with a client and practice
building tips. |
5: |
Coaching
from the Inside Out focuses on life design and personal fulfillment.
This is a personal journey in designing your own life and
utilizes skills and techniques useful in working with clients. |
6: |
Coaching
Labs are scheduled twice a month and focus on role-play and
the coaching process based on the skills and tools taught
in previous weeks classes. Each student is expected to serve
as coach and client over the five-month period. |

| Absence
Policy |
If you
are not seeking CE Credits you are allowed 5 or fewer absences
and are still able to graduate with full credit for the
40 hour course. If you miss 6 or more, you must repeat
the entire course in order to receive credit.
If you'd really like to catch the lecture material, you
can also listen in to any class on the website's audiopodium.
If you are seeking CE Credits, you must attain 100% attendance
in order to receive the 30 hours of CE credits. |

Certification |
Completion
of this 40 hour course puts you well on your way to the 60
hours required for the ILCT designation of Certified Life
Coach. For more information on the requirements visit the section on certification at the ILCT website. |
| ICF
Certification |
The International Coach Federation (ICF) provides three coach
credentials. They are the Associate Certified Coach (ACC),
the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and the Master Certified
Coach (MCC). For more information visit http://www.coachfederation.org.
All ILCT's classes count toward the required hours for all
three ICF credentials. Coaching hours accumulated through
our program may be applied towards any ICF credential. |
